,The possession of Hannah Grace- This movie played out in an odd way for a possession movie. I do have a few bones to pick with this movie, but I did enjoy it nonetheless if only for the actress of Hannah Grace herself, Kirby Johnson who is an amazing actress, and genuine contortionist ,which is really the only entertainment I found when watching this. First off, they try to make you care about the main character and you really, really don’t. The flashbacks don't really add anything outside of the character introduction and they used a work out scene to have her narrate her back story ,and I found myself wishing Hannah would kill Megan through the whole movie. The movie is dark (literally you cant see half of it because the lighting is awful.) They used sensor motion lights throughout the whole movie with unrealistic timing. It had bad angles, no character development and didn't suspend my beliefs. You don't get an attachment to any of the characters through this movie they all have puddle deep character. I was unimpressed with the character development, they were shallow, unrepeatable, and just overall unlikable. I thought the beginning of the movie was a good start as the main character, A burned out cop who's a recovering addict gets a nighttime job in a hospitals morgue to keep her from the nigh time temptation of relapsing. Once the corpse of Hannah is received the movies suspense picks up. I did have high hopes going into this movie but it seemed to rely on jump scares and suspense more than I would have personally liked. I didn't find it believable that a demon would continue to follow or posses a corpse after death, I could see it following the corpse for possible possession of a new vessel so like with items such as Annabel, demons, and spirits who need permission to enter or stay. I'd recommend this this movie just for KIrby's acting skill and contortions. Overall, I'd give this movie a solid D-. In short Redbox this movie if you really wanted to see it but just know its a very cookie cutter horror movie that banks on cheep scares and isn't even about possession.
